A Special Dedication =)

Something in the way she moves,
Attracts me like no other lover.
Something in the way she woos me.
I don't want to leave her now,
You know I believe and how.

Somewhere in her smile she knows,
That I don't need no other lover.
Something in her style that shows me.
I don't want to leave her now,
You know I believe and how.

You're asking me will my love grow,
I don't know, I don't know.
Stick around, and it may show,
But I don't know, I don't know.

Something in the way she knows,
And all I have to do is think of her.
Something in the things she shows me.
I don't want to leave her now.
You know I believe and how.

I have been a huge fan of The Beatles and this song since I can remember, its just another perfect piece of art from Abbey Road.
I dedicate it to my Shabie :-)

MCA Has a Form of Cancer

MCA of the beastie Boys just told the You Tube community he has a form of cancer and will be cancelling a bunch of upcomming shows as well as pushing bakc the release of the new Beastie Boys album. The good news however, is that the cancer is easily curable. Wish him the best of luck.

In the mean time, I'll here's the Sabotage video, one of my favorite Beastie songs and videos!!!

PETA Upset...Over a Fly?

Really PETA? C'mon, I agree with a lot of things you guys stand for (not everything, I am a self proclaimed carnivore), but bitching about the death of a fly really makes me lose a lot of respect for you. How can PETA take itself seriously, with stupid outcries like that, I swear you are your own worst enemy.

Here is the vid, Obama really did a fine job of killing that little bastard. Oh, I also love how news channels were making this into such a big deal.

Ruehl Finally Gets Dropped

After performing so poorly for the past few years, Abercrombie & Fitch's "other" concept store is closing down. While Hollister was designed for the younger crowd, Ruehl no.925 was originally made for the post-grad group. In the beginning, their clothes were very different than Abercrombie's, all the while keeping the same tone as their middle brothers. Due to bad marketing, and huge ego's over at AnFHQ, the store over time started to lose that maturity and eventually became an AnF clone. Good job Mike Jeffries, you ran your best concept into the ground. Ruehl really could have made a come back if it just adhered to its original concept and was better marketed, imho.
I'm pretty pissed off about this, Ruehl had some of the best fitting button-up shirts ever. Actually, since I started shopping there, thats all they had. Oh well, time to move on.

I Need a New Phone

The HTC Magic aka The My Touch 3G aka The G2

I have a Samsung SGH-t819, and while its a good phone I'm not personally fond of it.
I get to upgrade sometime this summer, early August and I am in the market for a smartphone. Since the iphone is out of the question (too expensive, and I don't dig two year contracts with At&t) I am looking towards the Android lineup.
Right now only the G1 runs Android, but T-mobile will be releasing the G2 aka the My Touch 3G this summer! I can't wait, I love the G1 but I hate how it looks like. The My Touch 3G looks sick and I definitely have to pick one up. With unlimited data and texts it comes up to $95 a month on a family plan, which isn't bad.

But now there is news that Huawei will be releasing an Andorid phone (U8230) sometime later this year in Europe, which means the U.S. won't get it for a while. :-(
It looks damnsexy though.

Take that Matador!!!

Awww, this poor matador got speared by the bull's horn.
Maybe next time he'd think twice before participating in this barbaric "sport."
You see, when you start stabbing a dangerous animal for fun and have the final intention of killing it, you're seriously not only an asshole and an idiot, but your really risking your life too!

My Two Top Purchases

Out of everything I have purchased in the last few months, I have to say my top purchases have been my 3 Nike DRI-fit shirts and my Adidas gym bag.

Nike DRI-Fit Sports Tee
After growing tired and bored of just wearing my old crappy t-shirts to the gym I decided to look for a better alternative. My friend Hoosh recommended me Nike DRI-fit shirts. Why the hell did I never think to wear actually gym shirts to the gym before this I do not know.

So I went on Nike's website and looked at what they had. I am not really a fan of short sleeved shirts so I went straight to th long sleeves. They looked perfect. I picked up 3 shirts, navy, white (my favorite) and this blue/grayish one. Since I have never worn these types of shirts I was hoping they would feel and look good on me. When they arrived I tried them on and was instantly in love. They were fit me wonderfully and felt just as good. Nike talks about the DRI-fit technology which is upposed to sweep sweat away from your skin. Well, from my experience, they do this but it makes it looks like you're sweating more. No big deal really.

ADIDAS Ultra Tech Small Duffel

I was in the Adidas store looking for some new gym pants. My old black sweats, while great, were showing age and ripping. Yes, I am a fan of destroyed clothing, but I usually reserve that style for jeans. While I was pondering which new pants to purchase I saw these duffel bags hanging on the wall. I picked one up in blue and bought it.

HOLY SHIT, I should have bought one of these much sooner. I now put all my gym stuff into this bag. Though its the "small" version of the bag, it still fits everything! My pants, shirts, shoes, accessories. It even has a FRESHPACK area that is separate from the main compartment. This is meant for your shoes and dirty clothes. The only bad thing about this is that my shoes don't even fit inside the compartment! Once again, no big deal. I just use the compartment for my two water bottles and my protein shake bottle. Also, I would like to mention that the Load Spring shoulder strap is a godsend, it really does decrease the weight your carrying.

It's Yours

MY NEWEST SONG OBSESSION!!!

Its Yours - J. Holiday

This is the 2nd time I've had a J. Holiday song on my iTunes pass 100 plays. Just like "Bed", "It's Yours" is very catchy, meaningful, and really strikes a chord with me. It's another one of those songs that makes one just want to grab someone and just kiss them with passion..otherwise, whats the point. I really couldn't think of any other way to say that without sounding corny. haha

Oh and for those who like numbers and like to say WTF, "Bed" has 218 plays on my iTunes. :-)

NEWS: Popeyes Runs Out of Chicken, a Community Faces Starvation

My favorite quotes
Mom: "Peoples have kids that they trying to feed, you telling me we can't feed our kids!!!"
OMG, without fast food fried chicken, the kids of America are gonna starve! Damn you Popeyes!

Another dude: No chicken, or they just outta chicken?"
Yeah, it has to be either or right?!?!

A Rekindled Love

There was once a time, when I first started working out (back in 2004) that I would love to go to the gym. It was something new to me, and I was seeing results everyday. I went from being 130 lbs to 155 and then to 166 all in one year. I was not exactly the strongest guy, but I liked my new found body. Before that time I never really picked up a weight and just concentrated on cardio and abs. Well, after a while, I plateaued, and the gym wasn't that place to acquire new gains anymore, it was just the place 15 minutes away from me that I had to go to to keep whatever I had. When one has this kind of attitude towards working out, becoming sick of the gym is inevitable...and trips to the gym become less and less frequent. Though I still thought of it as an important part of my life, I DESPISED going to the gym, and my body suffered because of this.
Sometime during this semester, I became aware of this and how my body is not the best it could be. Something in my head clicked, allowing me to understand that the only person my lethargy was affecting was me. Why can't I have a sick body? Yeah, I'm a full time student with an obsession with Halo, but there had to be a way to manage my time to make me a gym rat once again, right? Of course there was, there ALWAYS is.
So one night, I made a gym/class/social schedule for myself. I had to make the gym a positive part of my life again, and making a schedule for it was definitely the way to go. The next day I started my schedule. I decided to work hard at the gym, and have a positive attitude. Turns out, having a positive attitude is almost all you need to do something. Ever since that day about a month ago, I have been avidly going to the gym, and whenever I have to miss a day I get really anxious and depressed. It feels so good to have such a positive addiction. The best part is, my body is turning out damn good. I am very happy with the gains I have seen in just one month. I am happy yes, but still not satisfied. I want my perfect chest, I want my perfect abs and my ripped shoulders. I love my back, its my favorite part to workout, but I'm loving chest days now too, its all about the incline press :-D
I should also not that I try to hit the gym 5 days a week, and twice a day. Last week, I fucked up my leg so I only went once a day. I do actual muscle groups in the morning/afternoon and then cardio and either lower abs, upper abs, or obliques to finish it off.
ANYTHING CAN BE DONE WITH A POSITIVE ATTITUDE.

My Apologies to Soulja Boy

OK, ever since this dude came out with "Crank That" I hated him. The song was catchy but I just felt it was too damn corny.
Well, after listening to "Tell Em (Kiss Me Through the Phone)" and now "Turn My Swag On" I have changed my mind. Love those songs, and this dude is really starting to grow on me. Listened to his other stuff too, not bad. I also feel he brings a nice positive attitude to hip-hop, which is very refreshing.

FUCK YOU METALLICA OWNS YOUR SOUL

Holy shit it was so great to see all the members of Metallica (including Jason!!) up on stage just fuckin rockin out together. I knew they were going to be getting inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame but man I was not expecting a full performance with everyone. My jaw dropped while I watched it.

They were fuckin awesome, but you could sense the age in Jame's voice, he definitely can't hit thsoe vacals like before. Eventually I'll put up a blog entry on why Metallica kicks ass and why they are were one of the best bands ever. I still listen to their old shit and am constantly blown away by it. Guitar hero: Metallica soon, ooohhhhh yeahhh son.

Song Obsession of the..Month?

Every now and then I just hear a song and it then gets constant play on my iTunes. Yes, I go to Controls and put that shit on Repeat One.
Recently, I've been listening to Akon - Beautiful like its fuckin crack. Hmm, make that Cocaine, crack is whack!

Drift me away, far away
And like the sun you
Brighten my day, you brighten my day

And I never wanna tell a lie

Foxy [single] Lady

I know this is about a month or so old but Megan Fox, IMO the sexiest girl in Hollywood(possibly the world AS WELL), and that douche Brian Austin whatever have finally broken up. I don't know about you, but I'm getting in line!!!

Hmm...lets add in another pic for good measure.

Perfect.

TOO HUMAN

Where the hell have I been? For the past week and a half I have been playing this game I bought called TOO HUMAN. I have also been studying here and there, but damnit am I addicted to this game. The game is for the Xbox 360 and is hack-and-slash dungeon crawlers loot-dropping game. In the game you play as a "god" named Baulder, which means the game is heavily based on Norse Mythology. Instead of actual real trolls and goblins, your enemies are a bunch of robots, with the respective names.
The game has been talked about for the passed 9 years, though Silicon Knights, the creators of the game, got the final idea and began making the game about 2-3 years ago. The game has received average reviews, with many people disappointed with it. I think these people never really gave the game a chance. Its amazing! I love it, I'm addicted to it, and in the passed week and a half I got two characters up to lvl 50.
If you like DIABLO, GET THIS GAME.

Mr. Chi-City Mayne!!!

Who doesn't have a Youtube account these days. Well, I don't actually videoblog in it, but I do have a couple of Youtube subscriptions. Subscriptions on youtube is when you "subscribe" to someones account, so that every time they post a video, you are informed. One of my favorite users on Youtube is MrChiCity3 aka Mr. Chi-City. This dude is hilariousssss. He mostly tapes his videos from his point of view, and no one has actually seen his face. Whatever, doesn't matter...this guy is the fuckin man. He apparently grew up in the "hood" and now lives in the suburbs haha. This guy is so, what can I say...."ghetto" but very respectable at the same time. Many people have already heard of this guy, especially from his video about how to get chicks by keeping your fridge stocked.

Fuckin hilarious stuff. Watch his videos, they are some funny stuff. Hes also a really good dude, last Christmas he went around giving money out to those who needed it, and those people really did NEED the money (watch his videos to see why). Dude not only has a good heart, funny as hell, he's also not one to hide his feelings back. The video he made when he visited his dead friend's resting place was not only comedic, but very heart warming. But as Mr. Chi-City would say, No homo, fuck that shit, watch the vids mayne!

The Watchmen: Review

I got the opportunity to catch The Watchmen on th Pallisades IMAX last Friday night. I went into the movie knowing very little about the comic, though I did understand that it was far from your typical super hero comic. This was a very good thing in my opinion and I was hoping Synder would get it right on the big screen. Needless to say, I didn't go in expecting much, though I was hyped for the movie, thanks to 300. What guy didn't like 300? I question the manhood of those that didn't.
Well, all in all, I was shocked at how awesome this movie was. Another word that comes to my mind is amazing. This movie, goddamn it was good! The wording was almost word for word from the comic itself, but obviously a few things had to be tweeked. Some of the quotes from that movie were so thoughtful, so unique. The movie was very story driven as well, with many scenes just being character backgrounds, which actually drove the story forward as well. Fight scenes were spread out a lot, but this does not mean that they were not there. They were present, they were huge, and very in your face as well. The very first fight scene with The Comedian vs his assassin was just damn perfect. If you liked the action in 300, then you will love the action in The Watchmen. There is far more blood, dismemberment, better choreography, and just more badassness.
What was really badass about the movie was the characters. They are what truly made this movie great. They are super heroes, but not your average pussy chump super hero ie Superman and co. Don't get me wrong, I love Superman, but after watching this movie how the hell can I keep respecting him. Superman and all the other super heroes are so fake. The characters in this movie are portrayed in a very real light. Someone I watched the movie with used the word "human." This is exactly how the characters are seen, human. If the average guy has the ability to run around fighting crime almost like a vigilante, and saw as much shit as you normally would see doing this job, then it would change you as well. No one was shocked when Rorchach started killing every bad guy he saw; it made sense to the audience. We totally understood his reasoning and if we were in his shoes, we would do the same. Thats a connection, how many times have you watched Superman or Spider-Man and wondered why he would not just kill some of these guys? Hey Spidey, I understand the whole "with great power comes great responsibility" stuff but cmon, if you had killed the Kingpin earlier, then Aunt May wouldn't of been on the brink of death, and we wouldn't of been introduced to that garbage that is Brand New Day.
I digress, but all in all, The Watchmen was fucking sweet. The best movie I have seen since The Dark Knight, and you know what...I'll say it, I enjoyed it better than The Dark Knight. Yeah, I said it. Also, for the people who didn't like this movie, either open your mind some more, get a prescription for Ridenol, understand what a real movie is, or just kill yourself.
I leave you with a quote by Dr. Manhattan, "I have walked on the surface of the Sun... witnessed events so tiny and so fast, that they can hardly be said to have occurred at all. But you, Adrian, you're just a man. The world's smartest man poses no more threat to me than does it's smartest termite." FUCKING BAD-ASS
100/100

Moving Mountains -- Usher

Moving Mountains - Usher
When I first heard this song I absolutely hated it. To me it didn't flow right. Then something clicked in my head and I now listen to this song at least twice a day. Not because I feel a connection to it, or sympathize with the lyrics. No, I am just addicted to this song, its insane! This song has 400+ plays on my iTunes already. Which is a lot, but that doesn't take into account how many times I have listened to it on my iPod, or watched the video on Youtube or on my computer. I even have a high quality version of the video downloaded onto my computer just for that.
The video is a remixed version of the song and IMHO sounds soooo much better than the original. The little details it adds definitely brings out the best parts of the song. The way Usher sings it with such emotion also makes this a classic.
Also note that the girl atop the mountain in this video is the same girl from Usher's phone in Love in the Club.

Charlie Taking it in the Car

This is possibly the stupidest video ever. Its my friends Charlie, David, and Rajad, along with myself, coming back from an event at Stony Brook University. Charlie falls asleep and I proceed to do our signature "take it" maneuver on his mouth. This is equivalent to putting a dick in his mouth..just the heterosexual way...yeah....
This video was taken/uploaded in 2006 and has 2,000+ views lol

Abercrombie & Fitch's "Rugged" Look

About once a week I get promotional emails from my favorite clothing store brands (make that 3x a week from fuckin Express). This week I got an email from Abercrombie about their new "rugged" look.
I was roflmao when I saw it. A pink shirt Abercrombie? Really, a fuckin pink shirt? Pink is not rugged, its the fruitiest color ever. Nothing about pink is remotely masculine. Pink does not fuckin equal Clint Eastwood, it equals pussy ass bitches who pop their collars and think their hot.
Just because Camron and Kanye West rock pink doesn't mean other guys should. When was the last time anyone took fashion advice from Camron anyway.
So AnF, how about you get rid of the pink shirt and introduce another color from the crayola box...hmm...like maybe black? Oh yeah, I forgot that black doesn't exist in your world of naked men running through the woods for no goddamn reason at all except to molest one another. Gross.

From G's to Gents -- Esther Baxtter

So for some reason I'm actually watching this show (I usually DESPISE reality shows) and loving it. I could careless about season 1, "its all about season 2." So far there have been four episodes and each one keeps getting better. The last episode was awesome, not only did one of the guys start crying at the end like a little bitch for getting kicked off, but one of THE HOTTEST girls ever was on the show.
Whoever knows me, knows I'm a HUGE Esther Baxter fan...all the way from the Freak-a-Leak video back in 2004. Now to my pleasant surprise, she had a guest role on the last show. I don't remember what happened because I was honestly just paying attention to her.
BEST episode ever, hell it would've been better if they just showed Esther Baxter staring at the camera for 50 minutes.

The funniest thing I have ever seen

OK, so this video is old...really old..almost 3 years old so I am kind of ashamed that I just found out about it.
The video begins with a new report describing "whistler" tips that are installed into the mufflers of cars. As soon as I heard that, my first though was "who the fuck wants that in their car" as it makes the car audible for about a mile away!
Then I saw Rub Bub and suddenly everything made sense...in a nonesense kinda way.

My favorite part, aside from Bub Rub's assumptions that everyone's morning starts at 2pm, is when he demonstrates the whistler tips for the audience...all the while breaking at least four traffic laws.
Hoosh and I have been watching this video for the past few days and it only gets funnier each time. Its just so ridiculous and unheard of, it can't be real! But son of a bitch it is! WHOOO WHOOOOOOO

My first entry!

I guess I'll start with an introduction. My name is Jeremy and I live in Astoria, Queens, New York.

I have not really read a lot of blogs but always thought it was something that would be fun. I finally gave in when my best friend Shabana made a blog for herself. I can't say that I wasn't impressed, she actually seems dedicated to it. Hopefully I will share the same dedication with this blog.

Boring entry I know, but I'm sure it'll get better soon... right?? :-)

Above is a pic from a spot in Astoria Park (thanks wikipedia) that I frequent. It might actually be really familiar as I have seen it on countless Facebook profiles. The bridge is the Triborough.
